The SPA Logistics Passport Scheme has been written
by the Industry for the Industry Sector.
Every
year, about 70 people are killed and 2000 seriously
injured in accidents involving vehicles in and
around workplaces. A significant number of these
occur during deliveries and collections. Unless
effective precautions are taken, people are at
risk.
This
one day training is a product of a unique collaboration
with a leading industry client;
P D Ports Plc. The training focuses on issues
of particular concern for those who work within
the industry sector.
The aim of this sector day is to review the requirements
of a safe place of work, discuss the types of
hazards and risks found in driving to
and from the workplace, to consider what happens
when you arrive at the workplace, and what you
can do to make your workplace safer.Personnel
working in Logistics should first undergo the
core training - this one-day session ensures that
the delegates grasp the basics of general good
practice in health and safety.
Acknowledged by the Health and Safety Executive
(HSE), the cost effective programme drives good
practice through the contractor supply chain increasing
safety awareness and contributing to higher standards
of safety and hygiene performance. The Safety
Pass Alliance work with employers, employer associations,
trade unions, NTO and other relevant bodies to
design and develop training programmes tailored
to suit each sector
