Primarily aimed at contractors who work in the general
manufacturing industry, the SPA Passport training
programme focuses on health and safety best practice
that is specific to the general manufacturing industry
and covers induction and security; transport, heavy
vehicles and cranes; access and working at height;
hazardous substances and materials; confined space;
machinery and tools; and environment. The training
is also applicable to employees working within general
manufacturing.
Written by the industry for the industry, the general
manufacturing sector training programme is the product
of a unique steering group of nine leading industry
clients nationwide, including Rolls-Royce, Finning
(UK) Ltd and the EEF (Engineering Employers' Federation).
The solution countless organisations have been looking
for, the Passport provides safety assurance for
general manufacturing clients, and the peace of
mind that only acommon, recognised and validated
standard of training can provide. Acknowledged by
the HSE, the cost-effective programme drives good
practice through the contractor supply chain, increasing
safety awareness and contributing to higher standards
of safety performance.
The general manufacturing Passport training takes
one day. Trainees must first undergo the core training
- a one-day session that ensures delegates grasp
the basics of general good practice in health, safety
and the environment.
The Safety Pass Alliance work with employers,
employer associations, trade unions, NTOs and other
relevant bodies to design and develop training programmes
tailored to suit each sector.
